About the role
ARRCS are currently sourcing an experienced and qualified Cook to support the meal preparations for our residents and home care consumers within both our Aged Care Facility Tjilpiku Pampaku Ngura located in South Australia’s APY Lands and within the surrounding communities of Pukatja, Pipalyatjara, Mimili, Kaltjiti, Iwantja and Amata.
This role is being recruited on a permanent full-time basis working 38 hours per week and attracts a salary of $34.89 - $36.12 / hour gross base (annual of $68,947 - $71,363 gross base) dependent on skills and previous experience.
This role would ideally suit a skilled cook who enjoys working in a multi-functional kitchen and likes to place a ‘personal’ touch on their meal design and preparation.
You will be a self-starter who is able to work and reside in remote South Australia. You will enjoy preparing meals for our elderly consumers and work with external stakeholders to ensure that they meet the required dietary requirements.

Skills and Experience
To be considered for this role, we would require you to demonstrate the following:
- Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or similar discipline.
- A Food Handlers Certificate to the standard of 3.2.2A.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a commercial cook environment, with preference within a Health or Aged care environment.
- Knowledge of health and safety legislation in response to food preparation, food handling and storage.
- Experience in development of menus’ and ability to customise to residents specific dietary needs.
- Demonstrated ability in achieving personal goals and identifying areas for new training, development and requesting further training for any development in competency skill checks.
- Demonstrated ability to respond and adapt to competing priorities whilst working unsupervised.
- Demonstrated ability to empathise with Aged People, their families, and Personal Carers.
Mandatory Compliance
If successful in a role with ARRCS, prior to your commencement date, you must obtain the following:
- NDIS Workers Screening Check – Lodged or received prior to your commencement date.
- National Police Check – Lodged or dated within 3-months of your commencement date.
- Current year flu vaccination.
